I Got Your Picture!

"What do you say when a stereotype is true?" my cast-mate Duke says as I am currently writing in my blog. Our new cruise members consist of two Charters (First Financial and Universal) and regular guests. Half of these people are asian. This is where the stereotype comes into play. I have never felt more loved than when I finished the opera show last night and was not only approached by everyone who came but asked to pictures with all of the asians that passed by after the show. It was amazing.

We are currently in the Dominican Republic. As we were walking to find Wifi we some of our picture taking friends and they waved us down calling us the opera singers and wanted to take more pictures. I have never had more fun =)

Also, I'm going to try to be better about posting pictures earlier...but we shall see if that actually happens...

Cartagena, Columbia

Just today I’ve already hung out with a toucan, been pooped on by a tropical parrot and now am chillin’ with some flamingos while on wifi for only $5 for two hours. We have our first Decades show tonight where I’ll be singing some Dolly Parton and Lady Gaga. Keep a look out for pictures =)

Twilight Zone

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension; a dimension of sound...a dimension of sight...a dimension of mind. You are moving into a land of both shadow and substance of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into...
The Twilight Zone aka Ship Life

Sometimes time zones are difficult to remember, but today was a particular interesting day. I showed up to rehearsal with my roomie at 9:45 a.m. along with our other cast members. We soon found out that it was actually 8:45 a.m. which didn’t make sense because there was no posting letting us know to set our clocks back. Everyone’s watches were the correct time, but our phones were all an hour ahead.

We break to breakfast since we are now an hour early and as we are eating the news is on...

Newscaster: We celebrate Mother’s Day today blah blah blah...
Me: OMG it’s Mother’s Day?! I need to call my mom!
Roomie: Me too!
Me: Wait...this is March...
Roomie: Yeah I thought Mother’s Day was in May?
Me: Me too. What is happening?! Where are we? I don’t understand!

So yeah, this whole ship thing is pretty confusing. The rest of the day we got of at Huatalco and tried to use wifi while being approached by every Mexican we passed... =)
