Lisbon and Portomao

Right now I'm sitting outside at the food court on top of a mall in Portomao, Portugal. It's beautiful outside, but my skin is crawling like there are bugs all over me. When you are stuck on a cruise ship for days at time you forget that bugs exist. Even the inside of my nose is itching like crazy. Anyways, yesterday I was able to get off the ship for a little less than an hour. Embark occurred all day yesterday, but I made it into the port during a break and found the most important thing in Lisbon...an H&M.

I have never been so happy. I bought comfy pants and made my way back to the terminal. Today four of us walked around Portomao and found a mall. Need I say more? So much makeup! And Pizza Hut. I had delicious pizza. Never thought I would call Pizza Hut delicious...but here I am. We have Fabbalicious tonight, but that's about it! K bye!

More pictures are to come! =)

IPM (In Port Manning)

Lisbon, Portugal

When I found out I had to stay on the ship today because I had IPM, I was not a happy camper. Everyone else was going to get off and go shopping and have lunch and dinner off of the ship. For those who don’t know, IPM means In Port Manning. Whenever a ship is in a port, it is required by Bahamas Maritime Law that a certain number of crew members remain onboard the vessel in case of an emergency. Sooo pretty much...Jennifer stay on the ship and be bored all day...yeah. To those who think I was gonna let this day get me down I say, “NAY! I shall make an event of it!”

As a crew member I get 40% off on port days at the spa. Who is stuck in port anyways?                    >>>THIS GIRL<<<

I went up to the Spa and made an appointment for a deep tissue massage. Best. Decision. EVER. I think one of the best parts was after the massage. I was able to shower in a place that was larger than a refrigerator. HALLELUJAH!

PORT-ugal

Ponta Delgada, Portugal

Today we were supposed to arrive in Horta, but do to the weather being crazy the ship rocking like the King’s Island pirate ship ride the pilot couldn’t get onto our ship from their boat. Because of this mishap I was able to experience not one, but TWO delicious hotdogs, bell kick down a cobble stone road and dance the night away at what would be a “hipster” bar in Portugal. I wish I took a picture of the inside of this place. I’ll try to set the tone: (after 2 A.M in the morning) a 60s style bar with crazy bright colored picket fence chairs and tables, pictures of retro disco and hippie people, clocks on the wall that are made to look like giant watches with five different time zones and, oh yeah, a bed. The DJ was playing American pop music from the 50s to the 90s. We couldn’t help but dance our little butts off. By the end of the night we had all of these super stuffy Portugal people dancing on the floor with us. I think FABULOUS pretty much sums it up.

Here is a video of us attempting to bell kick together >>>

The Locks

Here's a short video of the locks as we are traveling through the Panama Canal. I've been trying to upload it for almost a month now because our Ship internet is so sloooooow. But now I am currently in a hotel room in Bermuda with free Wifi. Thanks Fairmont Princess Hotel for your delightfully semi-fast connection.
Hope you enjoy! =)

I Got Your Picture!

"What do you say when a stereotype is true?" my cast-mate Duke says as I am currently writing in my blog. Our new cruise members consist of two Charters (First Financial and Universal) and regular guests. Half of these people are asian. This is where the stereotype comes into play. I have never felt more loved than when I finished the opera show last night and was not only approached by everyone who came but asked to pictures with all of the asians that passed by after the show. It was amazing.

We are currently in the Dominican Republic. As we were walking to find Wifi we some of our picture taking friends and they waved us down calling us the opera singers and wanted to take more pictures. I have never had more fun =)

Also, I'm going to try to be better about posting pictures earlier...but we shall see if that actually happens...
